Review: Four Summers

Four Summers
Four Summers by Nyrae Dawn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nyrae Dawn did what she always does. She wrote a great, unputdownable book. As with several other of her books, I have a major league book crush on the female protagonist.

This is undoubtedly going to be on my Top-Ten Books of the Year list. Over the course of 4 summers we get to watch a set of characters grow and change in believable ways. As they get older their worldview changes believable, their relationships change, and we learn new things about all of them.

Nyrae writes such believable people you always feel as if they are people you really know or knew. their triumphs feel like your own, and their tragedies cut you deeply. Even the surprises, and this book has some, come across as so real, and so much a part of real life that in retrospect you should not have been surprised.

Nyrae Dawn is an amazing talent who should be a household name worldwide, and someday will be. I will read anything she ever publishes.
