Review: The Glass Castle

The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A profoundly moving memoir of growing up in a wildly unorthodox family amidst hunger and neglect. Ms Walls style of writing makes you feel a part of the family on their misadnvetures, and at times you can even feel the hunger gnawing at your belly as the kids talk of pulling garbage out of bathroom cans at school for lunches. This book reminded my of a family I knew well once, and at times hit hard."

Thank you Deena Bright for the recommendation! I'd never heard of it, and I loved it. Just bought her Half Broke Horses book too.
