The Conquest of Gaul by Julius Caesar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Amazing book. Really gets you into the head of Caesar. It also, put in context is one of the most amazing bits of propaganda ever written.
As Caesar marched through Europe he sent back these dispatches. How all who stood in his way were crushed.
when he came back, nobody had the stones to stand up to him.
This is why books are time machines. Even thousands of years later reading his words, you get inside the mind of one of histories greats.
